Emergency Management

The St. Mary's County Emergency Services logo sits on top of a number of natural disasters. Text below reads 'Preparedness, Response, Mitigation, and Recovery'.

The Emergency Management Division is responsible for helping the community before, during, and after disasters. The four phases of Emergency Management are Preparedness, Response, Mitigation, and Recovery. The Emergency Management Division works to prepare for hazards that may impact the St. Mary’s County community, respond to ongoing or anticipated events, develop projects that will mitigate the risks and impacts of potential hazards, and recover from any disaster that strikes our community.
